Synopsis[]

Cure Miracle and Mofurun's Magic Lesson[]

Landing in a floating island, Cure Miracle announces a magic lesson and introduces the Miracle Light by saving Mofurun who she enlarges. She then teaches the audience to turn Mofurun back to normal

Excited, Mofurun tries to use magic to make flowers bloom, but accidentally turns Miracle into Cure Flora. Shaking off the transformation, Miracle decides to get Mofurun back by casting magic spells at her, in which Mofurun fights back. Unfortunately, Mofurun begins to fly up into the sky after her tail gets turned into a balloon, and to make matter worse, a hive of bees attack her. Desperate to rescue Mofurun, Miracle urges the audience to cast more balloons with her. In the end, Mofurun is saved, and Miracle thanks everyone for their help.

During the end credits, Miracle and Mofurun turn some of the balloons into more Mofurun lookalikes and they all dance together.

Main[]

Cure Miracle and her friends all mange to defeat a Yakubaru. That evening, after de-transforming, they notice a shooting star, though Mirai is unsure on what to wish for. Ha-chan begins to wish for a magic tome, until another star crashes onto Mirai. It turns out that they are Miracle Lights that Kouchou intends to deliver to the three girls, and he tells them that these lights are important for the upcoming Grand Magic Festival.

Elsewhere, Dark Matter hears about the news of the festival and plots to intrude it so that he can rob the Wishing Stone for his own.

Arriving at the festival, Mofurun and the girls enjoy different aspects of it, and participate in shops and exhibition events. Ha-chan even befriends a dragon from the circus. Everyone then gathers to watch the Wishing Stone grant a wish for the chosen one and holds up Miracle Lights. To everybody’s surprise, Mofurun is chosen, but she has no plans for her wish. Suddenly, she is targeted by Dark Matter who crashes the event. The three Cures try to stop him, but unfortunately Mofurun still ends up being captured by the black bear who departs with a fierce dragon. Saddened, Mirai storms off with her broom on a search for her Mofurun.

Mofurun then attempts to escape from Dark Matter and end up stumbling into a place where a lot of adorable bears live. She befriends them quite quickly and they all have a fun time together. The next day, however, they all go into hiding when a black bear arrives. The black bear introduces himself as Kumata, and the friendly Mofurun immediately considers him as her newest buddy.

Later, Mirai almost crash-lands during her search for Mofurun, until Riko catches her, though they still crah anyway. Riko scolds Mirai for recklessly running away without warning and tells the latter that her broom is cracked. Riko then cries out on how Mirai won’t be able to find Mofurun if she ever gets injured, which Ha-chan agrees. They both tell Mirai that everyone is concerned about her and Mofurun, and promise to search for Mofurun with her, much to Mirai’s joy. Meanwhile, Kumata begins to offer Mofurun cookies and even uses his magic to build a cookie house for her to eat, much to her amazement, though she wants to share her cookies with her bear friends. Kumata notes that she is as naïve as ever.

Elsewhere, the three girls have to help themselves with the highly nutritious Foulrodo seeds, but they can’t stand the taste and smell after Ha-chan accidentally bites the seed. They laugh at one another’s hilarious reactions and Mirai now feels better thanks to her friends.

As for Mofurun, she is brought to Kumata’s home and wants to share a cookie with Kumata, though he rejects. Kumata wonders why she isn’t suspicious of his magic as everybody who met him tends to escape upon witnessing his powers, and wants to force her to stay with him so that she can grant him his wish. Ha-chan then spots many shooting stars at once, which reminds Mirai watching them with Mofurun when she was a child, and she now knows that her wish is to simply be with Mofurun. So she uses the Miracle Light Riko lends her to signal Mofurun. Unfortunately, Mofurun is being forbidden to leave as Kumata finally reveals his true identity as Dark Matter. Afraid that her friends will be harmed by him, poor Mofurun fearfully caves in.

The three girls continue their search for Mofurun when Dark Matter summon stone edges, but they refuse to give up. Dark Matter then sends out the dragon to attack them. To buy Mirai time to find Mofurun, Ha-chan transforms into Felice to deal with the dragon, and Riko decides to fight Dark Matter and his familiars after lending Mirai her broom. Mirai spots that the lonely Mofurun inside the mansion, but Mofurun simply can’t go home with her since Dark Matter has held her and Riko hostage. However, Mirai refuses to comply with him and tells Mofurun that how much she misses her. Emotional, they both rush to each other and the Wishing Stone activates, turning Mofurun into a Cure when she desperately tries to rescue Mirai. Cure Mofurun then chooses to combat against Dark Matter, which gives enough time for Mirai to free Riko with the reek smell of Foulrodo seeds, and Felice returns to help them with the purified dragon. It turns out that the dragon is the same one Felice has made friends with during the festival, and it was previously influenced by Dark Matter’s magic until she purified it.

Mofurn then explains that the Wishing Stone has turned her into a Cure, but Dark Matter immediately takes his revenge and attacks Mofurun. Dark Matter goes on expressing how he has been isolated in the past no matter how he attempted to help others and believes that Mofurun has chosen to betray him. Mofurun finally figures out how lonely he is, so she wants to hug him, only to be rendered lifeless after he accidentally crushes her Linkle Stone in a fit of rage. Dark Matter acts like he is trying to brush things off until Mirai tells him that he is also crying for losing Mofurun, and Felice remarks that he could have use the same magic on Mofurun just like how he did to the dragon. His wish is revealed to be friends with Mofurun forever, and he soon returns to being Kumata as he realizes his mistake. His magic ends up engulfing the entire world, turning people into stones and cancels out other magic. But Mirai still believes there’s hope because that was what Mofurun encouraged her, so her friends join in, which encourage the other people to aid them. The Cures instantly transform and Mofurun is revived and forgives Kumata.

After an intense battle with Kumata’s dark magic, the Cures finish it off with their Extreme Rainbow, and everything returns to normal. Mofurun and the girls then land on where the bears live, and the Wishing Stone disappears, with Riko adding that it won’t come back until the next century. Mofurun wants Kumata to join her and her friends, but respects Kumata’s choice. In the end, Mofurun and the girls are glad that Kumata has finally fulfilled his wish of being accepted as one of the bear cubs accepts him into the bear community.

Movie-only Characters[]

Kumata (クマタ Kumata?) / Dark Matter (ダークマター Dāku Matā?)
Dark Matter is a black bear who in the past acquired the ability to use magic. Because both people and other bears are afraid of him, he lives alone. His resentment of all magic leads him to the Wishing Stone, which he wants to use to remove all magicians from the world. When the Wishing Stone chooses Mofurun, he abducts her and tries to get her to grant his wish. First he tries to become her friend as Kumata, but when she refuses to grant his wish, he turns back into Dark Matter and tries to force her with her friends as hostages. When the Wishing Stone grants Mofurun's wish to protect her friends, Dark Matter attacks her furiously, only stopping when he destroys Mofurun's Linkle Stone. When Mofurun reverts to a lifeless teddy bear, Dark Matter is surprised to find that he's crying for the loss of his only friend too. After he turns back into Kumata, his magic power becomes a giant shadow that starts attacking the whole Magic World. At the end of the movie, a now magic-less Kumata becomes friends with the bears of the forest.

Bears
They live in the forest. Mofurun meets them when she escapes from Dark Matter's lair, and quickly becomes good friends with them. When Kumata shows up, they all flee or hide because they're afraid of his magic power. Mofurun is the only one who isn't scared of magic. When everyone is wishing for Mofurun to come back alive and shouting "Cure Up・RaPaPa!", the bears join in with "Kumappu・KuMaMa!". At the end of the movie, Kumata is accepted as one of them.

Giant shadow (ジャンボ影 Janbo Kage?) / Pure Shadow Matter (ピュアシャドウマター Pyua Shadou Matā?)
This is what Dark Matter/Kumata's magic power turns into when he realizes what he's done to Mofurun. The giant shadow creates magic circles everywhere in the Magic World from which lightning strikes that cancels magic and turns people into stone statues. When the girls, with the help of everyone's Miracle Light wishes, revive Mofurun and transform back into Cures, the giant shadow focuses on attacking them instead. With the help of the Flare Dragon, they break into the giant shadow and find an evil magic version of Dark Matter, Pure Shadow Matter inside. After a fierce battle using all their transformations, the Cures use Mofurun's new Heartful Linkle Stone to perform Heartful Rainbow. The giant shadow disappears with Pure Shadow Matter.

Flare Dragon / Shadow Dragon
A flare dragon who performs tricks in the Grand Magic Festival's Circus Balloon. Kotoha is able to communicate with it and together they spew a fireball and turn it into fireworks. When Dark Matter disrupts the festival and abducts both the Wishing Stone and Mofurun, he also turns the Flare Dragon into a Shadow Dragon and flies away on it. Later, when the girls are looking for Mofurun, the Shadow Dragon shows up again and attacks them. Being the only one left who can do so, Kotoha transforms into Cure Felice and distracts it while the others go ahead to Dark Matter's lair. When Cure Mofurun is fighting an enraged Dark Matter while Mirai frees Riko, Cure Felice returns together with the Flare Dragon. The others are surprised to see it, but Felice explains how she discovered that the Shadow Dragon was actually the Flare Dragon, possessed by Dark Matter's shadows. She used Pink Tourmaline to get rid it of the shadows. After that, the Flare Dragon helps the Cures fly out of Dark Matter's lair. Later, it helps them break into the giant shadow to battle its core Pure Shadow Matter.

Shadows
Dark Matter's magic helpers. He summons them when he attacks the Grand Magic Festival and again when Mofurun runs away from his lair. Some of them possessed the Flare Dragon and turned it into a Shadow Dragon. After Kumata loses his magic power, it turns into a giant version of these shadows.
