Plans?

So...where should we start? --Kyunkyua 00:20, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Where to start? Hmm... I would recommend starting with making all the needed pages. First, make the page about the very first and original season, Futari wa Pretty Cure (or PreCure, I never understood the important reason to shorten it), then begin making the pages for Nagisa and Honoko, and all the other villains in that season. Also, someone in the wiki I'm active on uses to say, it's important to not let the readers think that this is just a joke compared to Wikipedia, so that this will never be used. That's why the important thing should be to concentrate on one thing at a time so that there won't be a huge pack of Stub-articles everywhere (the wiki I was talking about have 687...). After that, it could be god to continue with Futari wa Pretty Cure: Splash Star, and then Yes! PRetty Cure 5, etc.
What is also possible IS filling the whole wiki with Stub-articles first and then concentrate on other things, so that those who want to fill up Komachi's page can do that while other works on Honoka's.
...Wait, the best would be to start making an awesome main page. I've no idea how to do that, though.
Penamesolen 21:43, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
I just fixed the main page. Not as awesome as I suggested, but hey, it's me we're talking about <.< Anyway, I'll create a couple of character pages with the help of Wikipedia's information plus some of my own, and then we're at least somewhere. We still need a lot of pictures, an own color theme and avatar picture for the wiki, but that are things I can't and won't do. Let's just hope that somebody out there can manage to get help from people who knows more about Pretty Cure than me.

Pretty Cure Wiki -> Main Page

I vote that the page should be renamed to "Main Page". It's no deep reasons, but I think it could be easier and better.

Policies and such

We've gotten off to a decent start with what we have now, but if we're going to start in on hundreds of episodes, minor characters, and so on, we need some idea of how we're doing it. First of all, some defined structures for articles would be worth having--we have something pretty well-established for main characters, but we need a format for episode (and movie) pages, and I'm sure we'll come up with other stuff.

We also could use some guidelines with regard to what the content should be like. Humor is probably the biggest issue here (Wikipedia's "serious business!" approach to everything is absolutely wrong for a wiki about Pretty Cure, but at the same time there's no sense in letting everything devolve into a pure snarkfest), but there are all kinds of other things that will need addressing at some point. Personally, I'd like to adapt and adopt TFWiki's policy on image captions, but that's just me, and if nobody else likes it then I won't argue.

Any of these would be a good reason to start using the community portal discussion page. --Andrusi 02:09, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

I just have to reply in short because I have to go home soon. Anyway, I don't really think it's important to think about the articles for the episodes and minor characters. As I told elsewhere, I'd like to finish the main characters' pages first (and in that, I mean the Pretty Cures, the mascots and maybe the villains). But for the minor characters, we could just copy the section titles the main characters have, deleting sections like "Cure [name]", etc. For the episodes, I think the modern edit system has a template that is only for episodes, though I won't try it out before working on that (by the way, for the Yes!5GoGo episodes, I'd like to refer them as "YPC5GG[number]". Just using "GoGo" may be okay, but since all the other seasons so far use the first letters, this one should as well).
For the humor... eh, I don't really understand what you mean by it. I prefer not showing too much perspective, so as long as the text doesn't basically say "this and this is funny, and you have to find it funny because I say so", I guess it's okay. I think I prefer Wikipedia's style, but that may be because I haven't really found any Wiki-articles where humor is openly related.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to the page for image captions, so if you have got time, can you please explain it for me?
And thank you so much for working on the Yes!5's articles! I can't do that as well since I haven't seen all the episodes and all, so it's of great help.
Penamesolen 21:10, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
First of all, no problem! I've been wanting an excuse to ramble about all these things for a while now, so I guess that works out.
Your idea about the minor characters (which would also apply to villains in many cases, I'd imagine) makes sense. It's more the episode thing that would desperately need to be worked out, and as you said, it's probably best to tackle the characters first so that's not really an issue yet. Though I might throw together an article about FwPC01 or YPC501 or something, so we can fiddle with it until it looks right and then use that formatting for everything else. The main thing about the "YPC5GG01" format is that, at that point, it's getting pretty long, and since we're already shortening FWPC to just PC, after all...
For the humor... it's hard to explain directly what I mean, and a lot of it would be case-by-case anyway. I'd think the best approach would be that humor shouldn't interrupt the article or keep it from being informative, but it's okay to have some fun along the way as you explain things. In the character pages, for instance, it would be appropriate to let what the characters are like influence how they're written. I did a little bit of this in Minazuki Karen's Story section. An example of this would be that Nagisa keeps freaking out about how ridiculous everything happening to her is, so her page could emphasize how weird things are and how inappropriate it is to make a 13-year-old girl have to deal with all this.
The thing about image captions ties into the humor thing. TFWiki's policy about image captions is, essentially, that 95% of the time, informative image captions are not at all necessary, so it's okay to have silly captions. If the page is called "Pissard," and at the top of the Story section there's a screenshot of an evil-looking guy, then you would have to be a complete idiot to not be able to figure out that it's a picture of Pissard, especially if the same guy is also in every other picture on the page. Putting in captions that say "Pissard fighting Pretty Cure," etc. is therefore completely pointless, so if they say things like "David Bowie fends off crazed fans" instead, nothing is really lost. Of course, every so often there's a situation where you really do need the caption to explain what's going on, like indicating which one of this crowd of minor characters is the one the article is talking about, and in that case the caption would still say something normal like "Natsuko is the one on the left, in the Cure Black costume." I hope I'm making sense here.
--Andrusi 02:39, 25 June 2009 (UTC)
For the episodes, I was actually wanting it to be like how Bulbapedia has them. If you look at the page the link goes to, they have easy information, a synopsis, and also a trivia which also includes anime-errors made and edits made for the English dub (in our case, we should have "YTV dub edits" or "YTV's edits"). Or at least something like that, adding some more pictures, maybe.
For the Storylink-template, I would also like to mention that it's not always needed. We can just say "in PC42, Kiriya showed up again and warned the girls" or something, and not only "Later, Kiriya showed up again and warned the girls [PC42]".
When it comes to the shortenings of Yes!5GoGo, shortening Futari wa Pretty Cure to "PC[number]" is slightly different than shortening Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo! to "GoGo[number]". Like, in Splash Star, the episodes don't have "SS[number]", but "PCSS[number]". that is so that one can know that it is Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star. If just "GoGo" is used, people may think that it is Futari wa Pretty Cure GoGo. Or maybe I'm overreacting. I'm not really sure how to do this. It would be nice to have it as accurate as possible, but using "FWPC" or "FwPC" would be, I don't know... at any rate it could be confused with Fresh Pretty Cure!'s FPC. BUT, maybe we should find more about this later. I'm really bad at expressing myself when it comes to this kind of stuff; in some cases I just like things for no reason.
I see, I understand. It does make sense that some captions simply are unneeded. I'll have that in thought when using pictures. Thank you.
At any rate, my Internet will be gone for three weeks from tomorrow off, so I won't be here for a long time. Just choose whatever pleases, and then the discussion can continue later.

Old news stories

Before I go nuts and do this I thought I would discuss it first. There are some stories under "latest news" that are nearly a year old. I think some of these should be removed ok? Shadowneko 14:27, March 17, 2011 (UTC)

Sure, go ahead. -Penamesolen 15:58, March 17, 2011 (UTC)

I demand this site to be banned for source

The site name is http://precure.livejournal.com/ And jeez! I have enough of people using this site just to confirm two Fan-Made Cures for Suite! Just....I had enough! Just ban it.....*Cries*Duo2nd 00:05, April 21, 2011 (UTC)

The trouble is Duo that I've been using that to get all the episode titles for Suite Precure for the most part. Wikipedia is my backup source but it doesn't always work as some people there won't translate for me. Without it I'd have to try to track down the on-hiatus Magenta of Aesir subs since I don't really know Japanese.Shadowneko 12:21, April 21, 2011 (UTC)

Fanart!

I want people to stop posting fanart! One of those people isCure Synphon who keeps posting fanart on pretty cure pages.

You said yourself that THIS IS NOT A FANON WIKI! The scans (that you call fake or fanart) are equal to the fanart that cure synphon posts (with the fact that he/she also doesn't even credit the creator of the fanart) so I think it would be fair to delete all the fanart that he/she and the other people posted! AnchyBelanchy 11:07, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

I'm not totally sure what is fanart or not. If you wana help fight it you can message me and/or mark the picture as a candidate for deletion and I'll take a look(if you're not sure I'll explain how to do this in private). I am all about cannon as to what should info be added to the main pages as in we know nothing about the "Yellow Cure" and I'm tired of the rumor mill that is connecting the the three characters(muse Ako,yellow cure). I've started several discussions on this but I keep getting ignored. I am allowing fanart on user pages for sure but like I siad just mark anything you feel doesn't belong. Shadowneko 12:01, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

I think pictures with bad quility and fan art don't even belonge to this wiki,
If you need help with deleting fan art i know all the 377 pages on zerochan (9,042 images) and i can see what is fan art and what not (not with 100% but i think am good enough) i think its hard with fake scans but i can try Lobkestar 12:52, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

Pages for the OSTs & Albums

I don't know if I'm the only one who considers the OSTs and Albums "major" but we only have what appears to be six (I just made one for the first HCPC OST and maybe the others just aren't in the OST category) out of a lot of albums. I'll try to make pages for them but it'd be nice to have some help, especially with finding the track lists. Thanks in advance, guys! I wasn't exactly sure where I was supposed to put this actually but after seeing "Plans" on this page, I figured it might be appropriate. Tomoe-San 08:28, January 5, 2012 (UTC)

Cure Misa was doing some but she can only do so much. She's really helped out by translating many of the titles for Suite this season. I'm sorry I can't be more help as I have to rely on cool fans like you who can read JP. Shadowneko 13:54, January 5, 2012 (UTC)
I can't read Japanese, actually. I wish I could though, it'd help a lot. I'm basically using Google Translate and some information I've found elsewhere. How do you add pages to categories? I'm trying to add the new pages I've made but I don't know how. If anyone decides to help and doesn't know where to start, I'll start crossing out what's been done from this progress list, I ask that you do the same if you decide to add a page.
Futari Wa Precure 1&2, Singles & Vocal Albums if any. (1 has no album cover on the page)

^ Max Heart 1 & 2, Movie OST, Singles & Vocal Albums if any.

Splash Star 1 & 2, Movie OST, Singles & Vocal Albums if any.

Yes! 1 & 2, Movie OST, Singles & Vocal Albums if any.

^ GoGo! 1 & 2, Movie OST, Singles & Vocal Albums if any.

Fresh! 1 & 2, Movie OST, Singles & Vocal Albums if any.

Heartcatch! 1 & 2, Movie OST, Singles & Vocal Albums if any. (2 has no track list while 1 only has romanized titles)

Suite! 1 & 2, Movie OST, Singles and Vocal Albums if any.

DX OSTs

Clearly, I don't know which series has vocal albums or not and how many they do, I'm seeing a few pages for Vocal Albums but I'm not sure if that's all, please cross them out if you know otherwise. Sorry for the longish message.

Permission. There are some pages that one cannot be edited such as Precure! Rainbow Healing ect can soome please fix this.Precurefandx

I'm sorry I don't know when you wrote that and it's dated April but alot of times I protect things because someone made a mess or vandalized the page. Maybe I forgot about a few of them because I was afraid that whomever they are will come back. Shadowneko (talk) 15:00, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

Pretty Cure 10th Anniversary Speeches

Excuse me. I don't know much but I saw on the Toei Animation Website that they have started putting each cure's 10th anniversary speeches. I thought it would be nice to upload them in a separate category on this wiki too or otherwise we can put them at least on the respective cure's character page. What do you think about this? It is just a suggestion from my side. Please can someone tell me what they think about it.Miusaomega (talk) 16:09, March 9, 2014 (UTC)

we have a page for this you know: 10th Anniversary Congratulatory Message(I think this discussion belongs there). I think that is good enough but perhaps I should add the Pretty Cure All Stars category to it.Shadowneko (talk) 14:05, March 18, 2014 (UTC)
After the final episode of Happiness Charge Pretty Cure, you creators can make another last New Stage movie called Pretty Cure All-Stars New Stage DX: Seasonal Memories of Holiday Folks!, Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart: Hyper Bonus, Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star: Double Mix and the twelfth and last season/tenth series Shapeshift Pretty Cure. Hey, I got an idea! After the final episode of Happiness Charge Pretty Cure, why don't you creators make 3 extra official series such as "Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart: Hyper Bonus", "Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash Star: Double Mix", and the twelfth and last season/tenth series called "Shapeshift Pretty Cure". How's that?

I'm sorry, probably something I missed. But I actually forgot, did the wiki have a personalized logo yet or not? I mean the top button thingy, that takes you to the front page. I was wondering, was this a temporary or...? Chrismh (talk) 03:37, April 22, 2014 (UTC)
