The International Pretty Cure are Cures from different countries that exist in the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure! universe. Eleven Pretty Cure teams have been identified in the series, listed below in order of appearance:

Japanese Pretty Cure

Happiness Charge Pretty Cure is the team that operates in Pikarigaoka, Japan. Its members are Cure LovelyCure PrincessCure Honey, and Cure Fortune. The team's mascots are Ribbon and Glasan.

Cure Fortune's sister, Cure Tender, was Japan's Pretty Cure before she was defeated by Phantom. Queen Mirage also used to be a Pretty Cure named Cure Mirage, about 300 years ago.

American Pretty Cure

"A three-person Pretty Cure team based in Texas from the United States of America. Their fashion and signature poses have the flair of the good ol' days of the American Wild West."

Texas' Pretty Cure team is called Bomber Girls Pretty Cure (ボンバーガールズプリキュア?). None of its three members have confirmed names.

Bomber Girls Pretty Cure is first seen at the beginning of episode 8, where they appear on Masuko Miyo's television show Pretty Cure Weekly. They are shown defeating a Saiark with their attack Star Boomerang (スターブーメラン?). They appear once more on Pretty Cure Weekly in episode 16, where they are at first tied up by a Saiark based on a cactus. They are cheered on by the children of the world and are able to break free, using Star Boomerang to purify the Saiark once again. They are also seen protecting a little girl in episode 46, and cheering on Happiness Charge Pretty Cure in episode 48.

The pink Cure has brown eyes with thickly curled blonde hair, worn in a ponytail with curled forelocks. She wears a miniature cowboy hat with a hot pink band, and hot pink diamond earrings. Her black vest has a hot pink collar and gold fringe. Under that, she wears a hot pink mini-dress with the same fringe and a brown belt with a large gold buckle. Her brown boots are worn with brown stockings. Her arms are covered with white detached sleeves decorated with hot pink bows. She wears her LovePreBrace on her left wrist, and her wings are fuchsia.

The blue Cure has blue eyes and freckles on her cheeks. Her red, tightly curled hair is worn in low pigtails with gold stars. She wears blue diamond earrings and a brown cowboy hat adorned with a gold star, similar to a sheriff's hat from an old Western movie. Rather than a collar, she has a blue neckerchief. Under her black vest she wears a blouse with puffy white sleeves, and each sleeve is decorated with another gold star. The bottom hem of her light brown miniskirt has the same gold fringe as her vest. Her boots are white with blue trim that matches her dark blue fingerless gloves. She wears her LovePreBrace on her left wrist, and her wings are pale blue.

The yellow Cure has green eyes, and silver hair that falls in loose waves to about knee-length. She wears green diamond earrings and a brown headband adorned with two feathers. The collar of her black vest is yellow, and a green bow rests beneath the gold brooch in the shape of the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure! insignia. The bottom hem of her vest is lined with gold fringe. She wears a white top with winged sleeves underneath her vest, and a yellow pleated miniskirt under that. Her short white boots have a ring of fringe around the top, and she also wears a fringed bracer on each arm. She wears her LovePreBrace on her left wrist, and her wings are a pale mint color.

Hindi Pretty Cure

"A pair of girls with glasses. Their signature move is "Optical Wave," in which they repeatedly press keys on calculator-type items to make glowing numbers appear, and then release them to defeat the enemy."

Wonderful Net Pretty Cure (ワンダフルネットプリキュア?) is the team that operates in Mumbai, India.[1] Its two members do not have confirmed names.

Wonderful Net Pretty Cure is first seen at the beginning of episode 8, where they appear on Masuko Miyo's television show Pretty Cure Weekly. They are shown defeating a Saiark in front of the Taj Mahal with their attack Optical Wave (オプティカルウェーブ?).

Wonderful Net Pretty Cure later appears alongside the other International Pretty Cure to help the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure in episode 46, although only the green Cure is shown. Both of them make an appearance in episode 48, where they are seen cheering on Happiness Charge Pretty Cure.

The orange Cure has short orange hair, orange eyes, and glasses. She wears a bindi and gold oval earrings, as well as a headpiece with a yellow, two-tiered head scarf and a green gem in front. Her black vest has a white collar and a single white sleeve on the left. A chain of gold dangles beneath her gold brooch in the shape of the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure! insignia. There is another gold chain on her hips, over her knee-length orange skirt. She wears a pair of white heels with ankle straps. She wears a gold wrist accessory on her right arm, and her LovePreBrace on the other. She has yellow wings.

The green Cure has green eyes and also wears glasses. She has long green hair worn in a ponytail with looped hair, and on the right side wears a hair accessory with a large orange gem, white fabric, and gold dangles. On her forehead she wears a similar gold accessory with an orange gem. Her necklace and earrings are gold dangles to match. She wears a sleeveless black vest with more gold dangles on either side of her brooch. Beneath that is a decorative gold trim, and gold dangles hang from the bottom hem of her vest. Underneath a pale green ruffled peplum she wears a long, white tapered skirt. Her shoes match the orange Cure, but have added gold bows in front. On her right wrist is a white and gold accessory to accent the ones she wears on her upper arms. She wears her LovePreBrace on her left wrist, and her wings are yellow.

French Pretty Cure

"Her team's name is "Merci Pretty Cure," but Cure Art is the only confirmed member. Befitting her activities in Paris, the City of Art, she carries a paintbrush-shaped weapon."

Cure Art (キュアアール?) is the only known member of Merci Pretty Cure (メルシィプリキュア?), which operates in Paris, France.

Cure Art is first seen at the beginning of episode 8, where she appears on Masuko Miyo's television show Pretty Cure Weekly. She is shown purifying a Saiark in front of the Arc de Triomphe with her attack Pinceau Arc-en-ciel (パッソーアルカンシエル Passō Aruk An Shieru?). She appears once more on Pretty Cure Weekly in episode 16, where she is at first trapped by a Saiark based on the famous painting The Scream. She is cheered on by the children of the world and is able to break free, using Pinceau Arc-en-ciel to purify the Saiark once again.

At the beginning of episode 28, she is seen struggling against a macaron-themed Saiark in front of the Eiffel Tower. Cure Honey appears and sings her song, which renews Cure Art's strength and allows her to defeat the Saiark. Cure Art is later seen fighting a Red Saiark in episode 46, and she makes an appearance alongside Cure Continental in episode 48, where she sends her power to Cure Lovely so she can defeat Red.

Cure Art has blonde hair worn in worm tails, and pink eyes. She wears flower earrings and a mauve headdress with a single large, pastel pink feather. Her black vest has puffy white sleeves and a layered mauve bow in the center of the chest. The bow is decorated with a gold brooch in the shape of the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure! insignia. The bottom hem of her vest has a feathery white trim, and the layers on her multi-tiered skirt form a gradient from pink to white. Around the skirt are magenta bows. The top of each of her white thigh boots is decorated with a mauve bow, and she wears white sleeves with gold straps. She wears her LovePreBrace on her left wrist, and her wings are pale pink.

Cure Art's weapon is a giant paintbrush with a mauve ribbon. Her main attack Pinceau Arc-en-ciel (パッソーアルカンシエル Passō Aruk An Shieru?) translates to "rainbow paintbrush" in French.

Egyptian Pretty Cure

"A Pretty Cure who is active in the hot desert. The separates costume is sexy. She was sealed away, but later revived."

Cure Nile (キュアナイル Kyua Nairu?) is the only known Cure from Africa. She operates in Cairo, Egypt.[1]

She is first seen fighting Phantom in episode 13. She attacks him with Nile Stream (ナイルストリーム Nairu Sutorīmu?), but is defeated and trapped in a mirror. Cure Nile is later freed and can be seen fighting a Red Saiark in episode 46.

Cure Nile has sharp blue eyes and long blue hair worn in a ponytail. She wears a gold headpiece adorned with blue gems and gold veil. Her cropped vest has a periwinkle collar, puffy elbow-length sleeves, and white scallops along its bottom hem. Under a white skirt she wears sheer harem pants and gold heels, with an ankle strap and a bow across the front.

Hawaiian Pretty Cure

"A team of twin sisters. They lose consecutively to Madam Momere, Hawaii becomes colder, and the sisters have a rift. Their introduction when they transform is "The two lights sparkling in the southern lands, Alo~ha Pretty Cure!""

The Hawaiian Pretty Cure team, Alo~ha Pretty Cure (アロ~ハプリキュア?), consists of the twin sisters Ohana (オハナ Ohana?) and Olina (オリナ Orina?), who transform into Cure Sunset (キュアサンセット?) and Cure Wave (キュアウェーブ?), respectively. They are aided by the fairy Aloalo (アロアロ?).

Alo~ha Pretty Cure appears for the first time in episode 28, when Aloalo asks Happiness Charge Pretty Cure for help because the two sisters are fighting with each other and continue losing against Madam Momere, another general of the Phantom Empire. By the end of the episode, they are able to put aside their differences and use their attack Hawaiian Lino Ahua (ハワイアン リノ アフア?) to defeat Momere. Hawaii, which had been frozen over, is returned to normal.

Alo~ha Pretty Cure appears alongside the other International Pretty Cure to help the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure in episode 46. Cure Wave with Cure Honey and Cure Sunset with Cure Princess work together to break a Red Saiark's defense. In episode 48, they send their power to Cure Lovely so she can defeat Red.

Their main attack Hawaiian Lino Ahua (ハワイアン リノ アフア?) can translate to "Hawaiian Grand Dazzle". Their group introduction is:

Cure Sunset (Ohana)

Cure Sunset has maroon eyes and long orange hair styled in a loose ponytail. She wears a large white and red flower in her hair, along with a small flower hairclip to match her flower earrings. The collar of her sleeveless black vest is pastel orange and worn up. There is also an apricot-colored band around the top of her vest, and a ruffle of the same color rests beneath the gold brooch in the shape of the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure! insignia. Along the bottom hem of her vest is a white ruffle. She wears a flowy, pastel orange skirt that reveals most of her legs. Her peach-colored heels have ankle straps and a flower on the front to match her bracelets. Her wings are pale green.

Cure Wave

"The eternal melody of the rhythmic splashes, Cure Wave!"

Cure Wave (Olina)

Cure Wave has dark blue eyes and turquoise hair worn in cone-shaped twin buns. Her flower earrings match the large white flowers she wears at the base of each hair bun. Each of these large flowers has a long, pale yellow tassel, and she holds her bangs away from her face with simple gold hairclips. Her uniform resembles Cure Sunset's, but her theme colors are blue and pastel blue. Her skirt is shorter, and her heels each have two sets of ankle straps. Her other accessories are the same as Cure Sunset's, and she has pale green wings as well.

Songs

Cure Sunset and Cure Wave's voice actresses, Yoshida Hitomi and Nayaka Sayaka, participated in a character song for the characters they voice.

English Pretty Cure

England's Pretty Cure team consists of only one known Cure: Cure Continental (キュアコンチネンタル?), who comes from London.[1] Her name likely derives from Continental Breakfast.

She is first seen being defeated by Phantom in episode 14, and then trapped in a mirror in the Pretty Cure Graveyard in episode 20. Cure Continental is later freed and makes an appearance alongside Cure Art in episode 48, where she sends her power to Cure Lovely so she can defeat Red. Cure Continental has no speaking lines in any of her appearances.

When Cure Continental first appears, she has blond hair tied up with a pink bow, and blue eyes. She wears a pink outfit, and silver earrings in the shape of spades. In episode 48, her outfit changes to blue. Her new appearance closely resembles Alice from Disney's Alice in Wonderland.

Russian Pretty Cure

"She gives the impression of a cool beauty. She was sealed away by Phantom, but was revived after Mirage was purified. "

Cure Katyusha (キュアカチューシャ?) is the only known Cure from Moscow, Russia.[1]

She first appears in episode 14, where she is shown to be trapped in a mirror by Phantom on Masuko Miyo's television show Pretty Cure Weekly. She is also seen trapped in a mirror in the Pretty Cure Graveyard in episode 20. Cure Katyusha is later freed and appears alongside the other International Pretty Cure to help the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure in episode 46. She also makes an appearance in episode 48, where she is seen cheering on Happiness Charge Pretty Cure.

When Cure Katyusha first appears, she has brown hair and wears a white ribbon decorated with a red crystal in the middle. Her full outfit is seen for the first time in episode 46, and it consists of a standard black vest with white sleeves. The crystal in the middle of her hair bow has changed to light blue to match the details on the rest of her outfit. She wears white gloves and boots which are both trimmed with gold. She does not possess a LovePreBrace.

Her appearance changes slightly in episode 48. She now wears a short, light blue coat on top of her vest. Instead of white sleeves, she has long, light blue sleeves with furry cuffs. She also wears earrings in the shape of snowmen.

Australian Pretty Cure

"A Pretty Cure of large stature with an impressively sharp look. It seems like she is fighting alone in the vastness of Australia."

Australia's only Cure is Cure Southern Cross (キュアサザンクロス?), from Sydney.[1]

She first appears in episode 14, where she is shown to be trapped in a mirror by Phantom on Masuko Miyo's television show Pretty Cure Weekly. Cure Southern Cross is later freed and appears alongside the other International Pretty Cure to help the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure in episode 46. She also makes an appearance in episode 48, where she is seen cheering on Happiness Charge Pretty Cure.

The first time she appears, she is wearing a standard black vest with ruffled white quarter-sleeves and a ruffled white trim along the bottom hem. She has a hair accessory similar to Cure Lovely's, except the gem heart is red instead of magenta and it is adorned with a feathery white wing. She also wears a white bracer with gold trim on each arm, and matching boots. She does not possess a LovePreBrace.

Her appearance changes slightly in episode 48. The red collar of her vest is now large and flared, and the vest itself has changed into a turtleneck. Her boots have also changed in design.

Italian Pretty Cure

"Twin sisters Pretty Cure. They always work in a pair. The one on the right, with her hair tied to the left, is Pantaloni."

Two Cures known as Cure Gonna (キュアゴーンナ?) and Cure Pantaloni (キュアパンタローニ?) operate out of Rome, Italy.[1] Their names translate to "Cure Skirt" and "Cure Trousers" in Italian, respectively.

The two of them first appear in episode 14, where they are shown to be trapped in a mirror by Phantom on Masuko Miyo's television show Pretty Cure Weekly. They are also seen trapped in a mirror in the Pretty Cure Graveyard in episode 21. They are later freed and appear alongside the other International Pretty Cure to help the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure in episode 46. They also make an appearance in episode 48, where they are seen cheering on Happiness Charge Pretty Cure.

They are identical twins. As Pretty Cure, they both have dirty blonde hair with thick bangs and shoulder-length forelocks. Cure Pantaloni ties her hair into a ponytail to the left, and Cure Gonna to the right. The first time they appear, they are both wearing standard black vests with ruffled white quarter-sleeves and a ruffled white trim along the bottom hem. They wear a white bracer with gold trim on each arm.

Their appearances change slightly in episode 48. Instead of collars, they now wear short capes attached to their vests. Their white sleeves are also elbow-length, and puffy instead of fluttery. They both wear gold wristbands, and the ruffle attached to each one's brooch has been changed to a tie with decorative white trim. Cure Pantaloni's color scheme is yellow, and Cure Gonna is blue.

Spanish Pretty Cure

"It was painful to see her overwhelmed by Phantom in episode 16. The red cloth of a matador is her trademark."

Matador Pretty Cure (マタドールプリキュア?) is the Pretty Cure team from Madrid, Spain. It only has one known member, and she does not have a confirmed name.

She is seen for the first time at the beginning of episode 16, where she appears on Masuko Miyo's television show Pretty Cure Weekly and is shown to have been defeated by Phantom in Las Ventas. She later appears alongside the other International Pretty Cure to help the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure in episode 46. She also makes an appearance in episode 48, where she is seen cheering on Happiness Charge Pretty Cure.

She has purple hair and a gold outfit when she first appears, but her appearance changes in episode 46. Now she has brown hair worn in a bun with a large, red carnation. Her bangs are angled and she has shoulder-length forelocks. She wears white-and-gold shoulder pads with long sleeves over her black vest. Over her chest she wears a red scarf under a gold brooch in the shape of the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure! insignia. She wears a red skirt with white fabric wrapped around her waist, and knee-length boots that match her shoulder pads.

Cure Shelly

A minor Pretty Cure named in the credits of episode 49. She is identified as the yellow-haired Cure appearing briefly at 11 minutes into that episode, as she is the only unknown Cure with a speaking line, "Ha". The Japanese in her name is usually read as Cure Shelly, although could also be romanized as Cure Sherry or Cure Cherie. She bears a slight resemblance to Cure Rosetta. Her voice actor is also the voice of Hawaiian fairy Aloalo, with whom she shares a color scheme.

Unnamed International Cures

A number of unnamed International Cures appear in episode 14, episode 16 episode 20, episode 21, and episode 22. In most episodes they are seen defeated by the Pretty Cure Hunter Phantom, and are later freed in episode 43. Their voice actors are mainly uncredited. They do not appear in the Happiness Charge Pretty Cure! Official Complete Book, and nothing else is canonically known about them. They include:

  • A green Cure with yellow hair and large green bows in her hair, seen defeated at the start of episode 14
  • A pink Cure with pale blonde hair, seen defeated at the start of episode 14
  • A purple Cure with light brown hair and large purple bows in her hair, seen defeated at the start of episode 14; presumably all three were part of the same team
  • A red Cure with short hair which covers one of her orange eyes, seen fighting on the same screen as Wonderful Net Pretty Cure in episode 16
  • A green Cure with blonde hair, twintails decorated with white ribbons, green eyes, and green earrings, defeated in the Pretty Cure graveyard at the start of episode 20. After being rescued off-screen in episode 43, she appears in episode 48 fighting alongside the Spanish Cure. She bears a slight resemblance to Cure Echo, and Japanese fans refer to her as "Fake Echo" or "Echo lookalike".
  • A dark-colored Cure with long dark brown hair and a red hair clip, seen in the graveyard next to Cure Continental at the end of episode 21
  • A yellow Cure with light brown hair, seen in the graveyard at the start of episode 22
  • A cyan Cure with bluish-green hair decorated with a white ruff, seen in the graveyard at the start of episode 22
  • A green Cure with dark green hair with a white bow, seen in the graveyard at the start of episode 22
  • A light green Cure with long brown hair, seen in the graveyard at the start of episode 22
  • A white Cure with orange hair in twintails decorated with white bows, seen in the graveyard at the start of episode 22
  • Although hard to see, in the right corner as the camera zooms out, there is a magenta cure with blonde hair.
  • An orange pink Cure with blue eyes, short brown hair and a white bow, rescued in episode 43
  • A light pink cure in the background with blonde hair in two short tails, rescued in episode 43
  • A white cure with light brown hair and a white bow
  • An orange cure with blonde hair in a long ponytail.
  • A green Cure with a long off-shoulder dress, blonde hair and a white ribbon, appearing on the right in a row of International Cures in episode 46. Western fans refer to her unofficially as Cure Jungle, while Japanese fans nickname her Cure Migihashi (meaning Cure Right-Hand Side). She most closely resembles the green cure in episode 22, although her skin tone is darker.

Trivia

  • Cure Nile, Cure Continental, and Alo~ha Pretty Cure are the only International Pretty Cure shown to possess a PreChanMirror.
  • The Happiness Charge Pretty Cure and Alo~ha Pretty Cure teams are the only teams shown to have mascot partners. It is unknown if the other teams have them.
  • All the Cures fight against Saiarks and their own set of generals.
  • Cure Art's Japanese name is a transliteration of the French word for "art," which is spelled the same as in English but pronounced with a silent 't'.
  • Wonderful Net Pretty Cure are the only Cures in the series to wear glasses in their Cure forms. They are also the first Pretty Cure to do so.
  • Alo~ha Pretty Cure and Italian Pretty Cure are by far the only Cures in the franchise to be twin sisters.
  • The theme colors of Wonderful Net Pretty Cure are based on the flag of India.
  • Cure Katyusha's name is a diminutive of the Russian name "Ekaterina."
  • Cure Southern Cross' name most likely refers to the Southern Cross constellation, which is present on the flag of Australia.
  • In episode 23, it is shown that Bomber Girls Pretty Cure, Cure Art, and Wonderful Net Pretty Cure have merchandise. Hime tries to buy some during her shopping trip with Iona.
  • Alo~ha Pretty Cure do not have LovePreBraces in their model sheets, though they do wear them in the series.
  • Sayaka Nakaya and Hitomi Yoshida, the voice actors of Cure Wave and Cure Sunset, are the OP and ED singers of Happiness Charge, respectively.
  • Alo~ha Pretty Cure are the only International Pretty Cure with an image song and whose transformation sequence is shown in the anime.
  • Bomber Girls Pretty Cure share the same voice actresses as Glasan, Hosshiwa, and Queen Mirage.
  • Cure Art shares the same voice actress with Furuta Kana & Omori Ai.
  • Cure Pantaloni's name means "Trousers" in Italian, but she wears a skirt in her Cure form.
  • The Alo~ha Cures had lighter complexions, particularly Cure Wave (Olina), when they were initially revealed in magazine preview scans. They also had different hair colors and outfits prior to the release of their debut episode, with Cure Sunset having blue hair and a fuchsia dress, and Cure Wave having yellow hair and a green skirt.
  • Bomber Girls Pretty Cure, Merci Pretty Cure, and Wonderful Net Pretty Cure were designed by Kazuhiro Ota. The other International Cures were designed by Sato Masayuki.
  • The long-haired twintails Cure appears on the inside cover of Sato Masayuki's Toei Animation Works artbook. Unusually, she is depicted in pink instead of green. The cover also depicts Cure Mirage, Cure Unlovely, Cure Tender, and several of the named International Cures.

Errors

  • The orange Wonderful Net Pretty Cure has her sleeve missing in previews but when the episodes air, either her left or right sleeve is missing (episode 8 and episode 16).
  • The international Cures' back wings change shape throughout their appearances.
  • Cure Art's wings are missing in one frame in episode 49.
  • Cures Southern Cross, Gonna, Pantaloni and Katyusha are shown with different outfits for one frame in episode 46, where they are all together.
