A Scoop! Pretty Cure's True Identity Exposed?! (スクープ!プリキュアの正体ばれちゃいます!? Sukūpu! Pretty Cure no Shoutai Barechaimasu!??) is the 6th episode for the season Heartcatch Pretty Cure! and also the 298th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.

Synopsis

Kanae attempts to get a picture of Pretty Cure for her next big scoop; but after her idol gives her some critisism she goes through depression and considers giving up.

Summary

Erika watches as Tsubomi waters some flowers, worried over them due to the long weekend. As they notice Itsuki training at the dojo, Kanae suddenly bursts in for the some pictures. Someone spots her and warns her to stop, then kicks the trio out and shuts the doors. However, Kanae is satisfied and she takes off.

During Lunch, Kanae reveals some comical pictures of everyone she took while Erika and Tsubomi head to the rooff. Erika isn't happy to see that two of them involve her falling as she attempted to skii, and the other is Daiki after getting a football to the face. He is also unhappy and they confront her, but she justifies what she did by saying it brings laughter and happiness to the class. Tsubomi meanwhile, only focuses on the cool picture of Itsuki she took. It's then Kanae voices her plans to obtain pictures of Pretty Cure, which alarms both girls.

When Kanae attempts to get a picture and fails, she decides to pay her Idol, Ryuunosuke Kurumi a visit. The girls are surprised to learn how much she idolizes him - but after he gives her some critique, saying how her comical images lack love, her Heart Flower starts to wither. She sadly takes off, with the girls showing concern, and she is soon found by Sasorina, who is quick to steal her Heart Flower and creates a Desertrian out of her camera. The camera-Desertrian takes several pictures of running students, in which the flash turns them to stone.

When Tsubomi and Erika find it they transform into Cure Blossom and Cure Marine, but in the middle of the fight, Cure Marine turns into stone when she takes Cure Blossom's place right before she can be attacked. Without the strongest Cure, Chypre and Coffret tell Cure Blossom to use the red Heart Seed, which speeds up her abilities. She agrees, with no other option and is suddenly overflowing with confidence. She quickly purifies the Desertrian and everyone returns to normal.

The girls wait for Kanae to wake up and encourage her not to give up her interest just yet. She agrees and the following day she gives Tsubomi the picture of Itsuki she fawned over the day prior. She then takes off, but stops to observe them for a moment. She watches as Erika teases Tsubomi over her crush on Itsuki and starts to wonder if they have the love Ryuunosuke talked about, then takes a picture of them.
