A New Darkness! The Bear in the Dangerous Forest (新たな闇!危険な森のクマさん "Aratana Yami! Kiken na Mori no Kuma-san"?), dubbed Mountains, Ogres and Bears in the English Dub, is the 6th episode of the season Futari wa Pretty Cure, and also the 6th episode of Pretty Cure franchise overall.

Synopsis

With the first Prism Stone in their possession the girls go to the Forest in search of the Prism Hopish. But will they be able to find it before their new enemy strikes?

Summary

Honoka and Nagisa look at the Green Prism Stone dropped by Pisard as Mipple tells them that they need a Prism Hopish. This special item comes directly from the Queen of the Garden of Light and is very important because it protects the Prism Stones. It's the Stone Guardian's job to protect them in it, and she left it with Mepple in the Garden of Light. They spot Mepple attempt to make a get-away and Mipple starts to yell at him when he reveals that he accidentally dropped it.

They head over to the Wakabadai Public Library to find a map to show Mepple so that he can determine where he last had it. He explains that there is a difference however, but the girls are unable to tell. Mipple yells at Mepple again, causing a commotion that Nagisa tries silencing as Honoka apologizes. It's then Mepple suddenly remembers dropping it by a pool of water. Honoka pulls out another book and asks if it looked like the lake she had the page open to, along with a few other books, and Mepple only replies "sort of". They continue to try with more books until Mipple yells again and Nagisa accidentally spills an entire pile of books. As Honoka asks her if she is okay, a book falls in front of Mepple and he says that the lake on the page is the one he saw - a location known as Yama Hyoutan Pond.

Eventually with enough walking, and complaints coming from Nagisa, Mepple admits that he has not felt any sort of presences yet. They come to a view of the lake that Mepple identified in the book when Nagisa accidentally takes a step too far and the ledge they were standing on begins to crumble. They fall down the hill until Nagisa is able to grab a loose branch and hold them up, but only for a moment, as it snaps and they fall down into a tree.

Meanwhile, in the Dotsuku Zone, the villains discuss the failure of Pisard. Gekidrago volunteers to go next to defeat the cures and the Evil King gives him permission, going on to mention that Pisard dropped one of the Prism stones. So he has to get it from them, since they need all seven stones to gain eternity.

As the group continues their search Nagisa asks Mepple if he feels anything by now, but it turns out that he fell asleep. Mipple begins to question if she should really date someone like him, which suddenly makes him snap awake and claim that he feels something. Honoka looks around and happens to spot a baby bear on a log that is heading down the river. Nagisa suggests they jump across the rocks to help it when she runs down the slope and starts jumping across the rocks, but she slips on the last one and lands on the same log as the baby bear.

Ep6-8

Nagisa with a baby bear

She starts to yell to Honoka, who runs alongside them while revealing she can't swim. The log hits a rock, throwing Nagisa and the baby bear off of the log and onto the shore. Honoka scolds Nagisa for being reckless, but Nagisa tells her that she had to in order to save the baby bear. Honoka compliments her bravery and they release the baby bear back into the wild as it's mother shows up.

Meanwhile, Gekidrago begins knocking down trees in his path when he comes near the bear family Nagisa had helped.

The girls observe an image of the Prism Hopish when Nagisa comments that it isn't a very well-done picture. Gekidrago suddenly appears, riding on the mother bear that he transformed into a Zakenna. It begins to chase after them when Mepple tells them to transform, but Nagisa informs him that they can't while running like this. The girls move out of the way just in the nick of time, making the Zakenna run right into a rock. Once it breaks it, the girls transform while it is distracted with other rocks. When it turns to run back at them the girls jump out of the way again.

Ep6-9

Empty Prism Hopish

In the air Cure Black comes back down and kicks the Zakenna. It swipes at her and and Gekidrago tries to punch Cure White when she flips him instead. The little baby bear runs in front of them to try and make them stop fighting its mother and when the Zakenna lifts it's paw to swipe the baby bear, Cure White points out the marking on its head matches the mother bear that they had seen earlier. The girls are unable to attack with Marble Screw, thinking that it will hurt the bear and they continue to run, approaching a bridge they are able to cross as Mepple suggests they try a new attack. One that will allow the girls to heal the bear and return it to normal. Mepple and Mipple explain how to use "Pretty Cure Rainbow Therapy" and the cures use this to return the bear to normal. Beyond angry with Gekidrago, the girls waste no time to hit him with Marble Screw to knock him back into a mountain.

A little while later they walk by the somewhat shattered cliff when the Prism Hopish suddenly lands on Nagisa's head. They pick it up and head back to Honoka's house and put in the Prism Stone as the guardian appears before them. He gives the girls each a special diary and card that will allow them to call for him at any time.
